Rose Castle, Tarn Hows

The following series of photographs were taken inside Rose Castle Cottage. Although a fire gutted the property some years ago I found orbs on photos taken in all the rooms at the front of the cottage. Until recent years the property was known as 'Rose Castle.' It appears that the National Trust added 'Cottage' to the name, possibly to comply with the Trades' Description Act.
In 1930 Beatrix Potter purchased the cottage and 400 ? acres of land, for £15,000. She rented Rose Castle to friends, and apparently signed an early Visitors' Book.
Late 1930 Beatrix Potter handed over Rose Castle to the National Trust.
